DKM focuses its efforts within Sub-Saharan Africa. We currently have ongoing projects in the following countries: Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ghana.
At DKM, we believe that some of the most critical needs in the world are those of the people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Further, we believe that this area is severely underfunded in comparison to domestic funding within Canada. For that reason, we feel that we can have the most significant impact for improving livelihoods of underserved peoples, families, and communities within Sub-Saharan Africa.
DKM has aligned our focus with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals; 17 goals building on the principle of “leaving no one behind.” Our areas of focus include promoting good health and well-being, providing access to quality education and ensuring economic prosperity for all.
Ultimately, women and youth must be engaged in the process to equitably see increases in health, educational attainment, as well as economic growth and prosperity. For if they are, such investments have the potential to raise the status of women and youth and create a world where everyone has the power and ability to control their own destinies.
